After a recent upgrade in my Thunderbird to rev 9.0.1, I had to download the install file from your site, as what I had would not work on the newer Thunderbird. After several tries, I still cannot get it to install. It locks up about 3/4 of the way thru each time, and I have to use the task manager to kill the installation. The windows installer locks up also.
I am running win 7 64 bit, and the earlier version worked fine. I have completely removed the earlier version from the computer, but this did not help. Any way to install it??
Are You trying to install 64bit version?
"gewqhwvfe7n awr fvo"-And they ensure me this isn't spam!
Yes, I am running win 7 64 bit. But I don't know about the file itself. It is the file you get when you click on the download button on the web site. Called: Spamfighter_web.exe. The page says for 32 or 64 bit OS. So I just assumed it was a 64 bit install...Wrong??
Yup. Spamfighter is broken on my rig, too. Thunderbird upgraded itself to 9.0.1 (I gotta disable that autoupdate!) and spamfigher won't go. Thunderbird says "SPAMfighter Toolbar For Thunderbird is incompatible with Thunderbird 9.0.1"
Tried downloading latest version of SPAMfighter, no help. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit.
Would spamfighter even install?? I could not get it to finish the install.
It appeared to install, and thunderbird 9.0.1 is telling me that SPAMfighter is there, just not supported.
Hello,
It seems that you do not have version 7.5.77.
My suggestion would be to make sure that you install SPAMfighter from the web site, and not from an older installation kit that you saved on your computer.
Best regards, Mihai Roman SPAMfighter.com
That is what I did. I went to the web site, downloaded the file and tried to install it. The file is: spamfighter_web, 2.3 MB, straight from your web site...
Going directly to the SPAMfighter website, I'm downloading version 7.0.96. Is that the lastest version? That's the version linked to on the website. I'm using Chrome, deleted all previous spamfighter.exe files.
Yup. Installation froze. The screen were I enter my username and password is greyed out. Broken. STUCK!
Help! I can't live without my spamfigher! The spam! It's ...too...much...to .....bear!
EDIT: The install popup screen is titled "SPAMfigher 2.0.96 - InstallAware Wizard
My email address is shown, but greyed out...the password field is blank, but I'm unable to input anything into the field. I cannot type the password or change the email field.
Installation error reads: "Could not write value Identity to key \Software\Fighters\SFPRO\Account. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel".
It probably wants my password, but the program will not allow me to enter anything into that field.
Dear DriodDarm,
It sounds very curious tha Google Chrome would present you with such an older version for download. Please try to download and install SPAMfighter from our web site again, but this time use Internet Explorer. If I am not mistaken, you should be offered to install another version (and that will not ask for a password). Let me know if that is not the case.
That did the trick, Mihai. Used Windows Explorer 64 bit (I think it's about the 3rd time I've had to use that browser in the past 3 years). Installed perfect. Spamfighter now sorting through 1000's of garbage emails that clogged my inbox.
I've disabled thunderbird updates until it's supported by SPAMfighter.
