Bought and tried out SlowPC-fighter. And it finds and deletes a lot of stuff, apparently. But it does not make your PC any faster. And Vista start-up is still slow.
I will recommend all my contacts NOT to get conned and buy this worthless ....
I am sorry to hear SLOW-PCfighter did not help your PC to a degree you found acceptable, the degree to which performance can be increased by SLOW-PCfighter varies from computer to computer (depending on what is causing it to be slow).
There are a few things we can suggest to try that may help, we are here to help support you.
Please start by doing this:* Do 3 scans and repairs directly after each other without restarting your computer.* After the 3rd repair restart your computer. If the computer is still very slow it could be caused by these factors:1) You have a lot of anti-virus programsYou should never have more than 1 anti-virus program installed at any time. The reason for this is that they can start "fighting" with eachother and this can result in your computer exhibiting unexpected and undesirable behaviour.Solution:* Uninstall all anti-virus program except one.2) You have a lot of security programsHaving a lot of security programs can take up a lot of resources because every program wants to scan when a file is accessed.Solution:* Uninstall all security programs except 1 anti-virus, 1 anti-spyware and 1 firewall product.3) You have a lot of small programs running in the backgroundMany programs want to run in the background just in case a file/program they are associated with should be opened. This saves a split second when opening that particular file/program, but will slow down your computer's startup process as well as taking power from your computer because the programs are running in the background all the time.Solution:* Uninstall all those small programs that you are not really using.* Deactivate the programs running in the background which you are not really using that often (preferably stop them from starting up all together - they will normally continue to start up when an associated file/program is opened).4) Your harddisk is full/fragmentedIf you have almost no room left on your harddiskk and/or if your harddisk is very cluttered then it can take a long time for programs to start up. This can be solved by running a disk defragmentation.Solution:* Delete as much from your harddisk that you do not need.* Delete Temporary Internet Files; open an Internet page, go to Tools -> Internet Options and click Delete under Browsing History.* Run a Disk Defragmentation; go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Defragmenter.
Computer speed can be subjective, but I hope this has helped increase performance to some degree.
