I tried to install and use SPAMfighter on Windows Live Mail that is available from Microsoft and was intended for Windows 7 since Windows 7 does not come with and email program.
The web page says the software works with "Windows Mail" which is the email program used in Windows VISTA! I have Windows 7 Pro and Windows Live Mail 2011. This SPAMfighter does NOT evidently work with that version. It does not even show up in the email program let alone work. It did let me install it fine but did not show up in the Windows Live Mail 2011. I guess they just haven't updated to this version.
I am NOT complaining, just making others aware. I did use SPAMfighter in Outlook Express in Windows XP and it proved to be the BEST spam filter on the market. I know because I tried several others and they didn't even touch what SPAMfighter would do, and do very well at that.
Just waiting for it to be available for Windows Live Mail 2011.

I'm using WLM 15.4.3538.0513 (latest version) and Spamfighter 7.3.53. Spamfighter only works partially with WLM. I cannot import my contacts (whitelist) from WLM to Spamfighter. There must be a flaw that prevents this. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it and it still doesn't work. Even Spamfighter tech support suggests there is a flaw.
Another thing, why is the Spamfighter toolbar integrated into WLM's ribbon? Why not have it integrated within WLM other than the ribbon.
Looking forward to the compatibility issue being sorted.
I've been happily on windows XP for a long while now. I was considering making the jump up to windows 7 but now reading this I think I will just stay put. Thanks for the heads up.
Thanks for the information guys, this is good to know. Windows xp seems to be a robust platform in terms of compatibility relative to 7.
You can always run apps in windows 7 with compatibility mode.
